This week was by far a veeeery stressful week. I realized a lot about the students at Ilima, and it's sad to say they are very rude, unappreciative and disrespectful. First of all, every day of spirit week at least three people would have something negative to say about the dress day. For example; "ew. why did you guys pick Turn back the clock pre 1950, you guys should have just done 80's" Polka dot day' "polka dot day is so lame. who made it? LOL you should have done 'animal print.' Aloha attire "does floral print count? it depends. "whoever made this is stupid, floral print would have made more sense." Little comments like this honestly bothered me because first of all, our school doesn't realize that if it wasn't for leadership we wouldn't even have Spirit week in the first place. They should be thankful we created these categories and activities. If they thought it was hard to dress out then don't dress out? If they thought the activities were boring, why did they participate? People would make rude comments about how the penny wars didn't make sense and chain links were a waste of money. Like honestly, We worked so hard and were put under a lot of stress this whole week it didn't help when people weren't appreciative. They point out all our flaws but not one person said a simple "spirit week was fun" or something nice in general. On a positive note, Spirit week was worth it because I had fun dressing out, and cheering off at the cheer off. My favorite part about Spirit week was the cheer off and relay races. The stress was all worth it in the end.
Monday- Being that it was the first day of Spirit week, I was confused on what to do, but in the end I did what I was told to do. Not many people dressed out but, Mr.Ing had a point, Pre 1950's was a bit hard. I had fun dressing out though, wearing a skirt (x LOL. That was funny! On Monday, we had odds. In Algebra we started HSA, the first 20 questions were actually really easy! I felt good about my answers and stuff. In english, we read the poem/song "Loose yourself," and talked about our upcoming quiz & graded poems. Social Studies, Mr.Malinoski did his first lesson and it was pretty fun! I guess it was different because he was teaching us and not Miss.Chin. For Spirit week, i noticed team 8-1 was really into it because on the first day, teachers were prepared dropping the loads of pennies then silvers in the other containers while the other teams didn't really do much till Tues, Wednesday, haha! It was cool seeing the teachers having fun, I think some teachers had more fun then there students .--.
i guesss.. As far as jobs, some people didn't come in during recess which set a bad impression. I believe it was the lack of communication between Megan and everyone else, (like Mr.Ing said.) Oh well, as long as they got it settled.
Tuesday- Evens! Tuesday went a bit smoother than Monday being that it was the second day of Spirit week and we all got it straightened out about the times to work, and stuff. for media we had a substitute, Ms.Salazar and we started on a mini project which is out-shirts (: we could draw and write anything we wanted too but of course it had to be appropriate. If you know me well, you should know that I CAN NOT draw for jaaaaaack. So basically I wrote down some quotes, and the only thing i drew was waves, a across, a sun, and a infinity sign. LOL lame, those were like easy that's why .---. oh and birds! that looks like flying waves. 0__o During science we focused on some notes, and LSA's. It was a chill period. During leadership we had spirit week things to straighten out.
Wednesday; ew. odds. We basically did the same thing. In social studies Mr.Malinoski taught us a lesson and went over the Civil War. & how historians research. In the beginning of class he split us up into two groups, one group was students wearing jeans and the other was students not wearing jeans.. The people wearing jeans were "slaves" which I fell into that group -,- so we sat on the ground facing the wall and he yelled "QUIET!" I was honestly a little scared haha! it was a fun experience though. We sat there for like 7 minutes. Wednesday is usually better days because its a short day and half way through the week. For thursday and friday days went smooth. Friday was like a free day because we had cheer off and relay races. In english we didn't do much besides watch a movie and chill in social studies we had a free period. Except math, of course we took notes and did a worksheet.
