4/15-4/19

I started off the week not feeling well. Fever, cough, running nose. & I wasn't in the mood AT ALL. Plus it was Monday, with ODD periods -.- With all that I did not want to be at school. ); But I had to suck it up and go school, so yeah. To start off, I had english first. English is my favorite class so I guess it was a good thing lol. We started on our new book (: Holes. As a group we read chapters 1-5 and went over our Nap time constructive response. Social studies we are starting on our big project for the 4th quarter and we started on phase 1. This project consist of 3 phases. Phase one was pretty self explanatory and easy (: We basically had to gather 3 pieces of work from the 3 quarters and write reflections on each piece of work. & for homework write a reflection based on 7th grade and 8th grade! Algebra of course consisted of a lot to do like always. Still working on x and y value which I hate ); so frustrated with this already. "Systems of equations" -.- we did a worksheet during class and took home another worksheet for homework . Well yeah that's how my monday went. I guess throughout the day it was alright.
Tuesday- I still wasn't feeling as good, but on a good note we had even periods. Started off with leadership. For period 6 we just worked on any work from other classes and missing work. 2nd period media -.- I usually look forward to media but today I wasn't because we were still finishing up our garage band project, but I got picked with Edward as my partner which made it a little more fun for me (x we started off with a love song.. then horror.. then country... LOL we really didn't know what type of beat we were going for haha so we just did anything. I was nervous going to 4th period which was science because we were going to have a "pop" quiz ;3 going to science, Ms.Jannie let us study for the first 15 minutes so I studied with Imani and I happily got everything all down! The pop quiz was out of 10 points with 5 questions + a bonus extra credit. I completed the quiz feeling good about it. After the quiz we had the rest of the period as free time and just waited for the bell to ring. That's how my Tuesday went, just a regular day I guess.
Wednesday... well I was NOT at all looking forward to coming to school, first of all my nose was running, second of all I was NOT in the mood, and lastly I didn't want to see this certain person at school being with what had happened Tuesday night. and we had odds. I just knew I wasn't going to have a good day because I woke up not feeling good to begin with. Sure enough that was the worst day. To start off we had social studies and I don't have much to say for social studies because we basically worked on finishing phase 1 which I had already finished so the rest of the class was free time and prep for phase 2 which I had already completed. Algebra we had another worksheet on Systems of equations, and for homework we worked on missing work. I was dreading algebra so much being that I don't like math and I wasn't feeling good made everything 10x worse and I came to class crying. For english we read chapters 8-12 in our same groups which I hated because that certain person was in my group ); it sucked. & half of my english period I was crying because Mr.Mitsuda kept asking me if I was okay because he noticed I didn't look well, and everytime he asked me "you sure you're okay.." I let my emotions get the best of me -.- The whole day was so depressing, I didn't mean to cry the whole day I hate crying in front of people and I'm the type of person when I cry I don't need anyone's sympathy or anyone to pitty me which is why I hate crying but Wednesday just wasn't my day. I actually wanted to leave early but my mom wasn't home to pick me up. At the end of the day I guess I was okay because the person apologized to me and stuff but I was just feeling alright. To get things off my mind I went to the pool, which didn't help because I had a stuffy nose.
Thursday & Friday: For science we used the period to work on our constellation, star stories poster. Although I was pretty much done with mines there wasn't much for me to do. During media we worked on our final project and my partner and I didn't get much done because we were having a hard time ); Mrs.Arakawa helped us but in the end we didn't accomplish much. Leadership was used to work on classwork, homework and missing work. Odds was basically the same thing. Social studies was used to work on phase 2 but my partner and I had an event which was a clean up so we couldn't work on phase 2 yet. English we just went over the chapters we read for Holes. & algebra another worksheet for systems of equations. My week started off bad but I guess it ended better than it started.

3/30

This blog is going to be short being that we only had 2 days of school within the week ^~^
Wednesday February 27th, our first day back from Spring break! I thought it was going to be a chill day but I guess not LOL (x started off with odd periods. English, Social Studies, and Algebra -.- during english we worked on a constructive response based on Oscar Pistorius. We had to choose a side if we think he is guilty or not guilty for shooting his girlfriend. I claimed he was guilty! I mean seriously, you don't just wake up on day and say "im gonna shoot my girlfriend.." I mean if you do that, you aren't normal.... issues man. During social studies we did another summary and learned about reconstruction. I believe after the civil war it was possible for the united states to reconstruct with the african americans and the whites. Miss.Chin basically showed us a powerpoint, and explanation then we did a summary on it. For algebra we had a test -.- like any other algebra test it was difficult for me ): although I tried my best and just guessed -.- That's pretty much that went on for my first day back at school from spring break! Our teachers put us to work to wake us up and made me realize I ain't on break no more.
Thursday- evens (: my favorite periods! For these periods it was a pretty chill day. For leadership we practiced for Orientation and made sure we all knew what we were doing. As well as making sure banners are being made. During media, we did a cyber bullying lesson and a worksheet which was really easy! After I completed the worksheet we listened to music and waited for the bell to ring. During science we basically went over the different types of moons, and our homework was to write 3 characteristics of the moon (: well overall that is how my two day week of school went. Not much.

4/8-4/12

Monday- So I came to school on Monday feeling pretty good. I was excited because it was Orientation week ^--^ periods of the day were 6,2,4. That's another reason I came to school feeling good because the periods were my favorite lol. During period 6 (leadership) we did Marque, and it was hot! Then we practiced for Orientation, which was our last final practice. We finalized everything made sure we knew what was going on and weren't confused about about anything. For Media, we finally started a new project that wasn't cyber bullying! Thank god. I was so over it. Our project was wordle. A collage of words that represented us. My wordle contained 21 words. It was really easy to create, I created mines in like 30 minutes o__0 lol. It was fun but super easy too. That was it for media. Last class was science and for science we had HSA testing :( it was honestly difficult. Most of the questions I never knew the answers to because we never covered it. Ohhwhaaale, I tried my best & gave it my best efforts. That's basically it for Monday, overall it was a good day (:
Tuesday- The first day of Orientation x__x I was nervous on my way to school but my dad made a point that the 6th graders are more nervous than me. I was scared of making a mistake... other than that, I disliked today's periods. 1,3,5. Although I missed social studies >__< For algebra we went over solving equations. The beginning of class it seemed a little difficult but by the end of the period I got the hang of it, I got help from my classmates, and I helped them as well. It was alright, I don't find algebra/math fun. Then again it's a skill we use everyday. For english we had a sub >__< we worked on a constructive response based on if we think Ilima should have naptimes! I say yes ;3 Overall Tuesday was a pretty good day! (: a little different due to Orientation but still a good day!
Wednesday- Yay, good periods and no nervousness being that Orientation wasn't today (x haha! for Media we worked on our new project which was Garage Band. Basically making our own music, and I love media class but hated this project! Making music is not my thing -.- I literally sucked but still got it done -__- I guess I had a hard time working with being creative ); ugh. Then I had science, and we had HSA again, the second half and found out our score. My score was bad, lets leave it at that. near the 260's ); literally wanted to cry. Most of the questions were hard thats why! Like I didn't understand so I just guessed and used the knowledge I already knew. That's pretty much all we did for science. During leadership we worked on orientation and just work and things from other classes. Wednesday was a chill day, just like any other school day. Class, work, class, work, work, class. -__- but yeaah.
Thursday- Last day of Orientation! I wasn't as nervous being that I successfully did it on Tuesday I just needed to do the same thing one last time! (: this time I enjoyed it knowing it was my last time being in charge of Orientation, and gave it my all while dancing. Orientation was another success!  I missed algebra that day due to Orientation so there isn't much I can say for period 3. Although for english we had our second vocabulary quiz which I got a 10/10 on ^__^ Mr.Mitsuda discussed how HSA was going to be apart of our grade i guessssss. English is always a chill, fun period for me because english is my favorite subject and the people in my english class are great to be around (: For social studies we had a debate! That didn't really go as planned because most of us weren't volunteering to speak so Miss.Chin called upon us then finally said to stop the debate since we weren't getting anywhere. Although, when we did speak people brought up good points which is why I think after we didn't know what to say... LOL, I love doing debates in social studies but this debate wasn't like the others ); I also think it wasn't like the others because Miss.Chin picked the side we were on usually we got to pick so yeaaah. Overall my Thursday went pretty smooth, and good (:
Friday- yayers, friday (: Friday was a really chillaxed day, I don't have much to say about Friday. For science it was a free period for me. Others worked on missing work but I didn't have any therefore I just chilled and relaxed (: till the bell rang, and organized my binder. For leadership we worked on work from other classes especially the classes we missed because of Orientation. For media we finished up our garage band practice, I got it done with 5/5 points ;3 yay. That was honestly hard haha! Well that was it for Friday, (:
My week went very well, good, and smooooth! It was a fun week (: and hard work paid off. Amazing

Orientation

Overall I believe Orientation went well. We didn't run into any major issues, which is good. Although some issues we had were minor. As my first year doing Orientation I had fun although it was nerve racking! I began to get butterflies the closer I got to speaking, and for some reason I became really nervous when speaking in front of the parents and guardians, I don't really know why though.. For the fashion show I had fun, and all the practices we went through was worth it. In the very beginning the week when we first started getting ready for orientation, period 6 was slacking because we did not know dances but when Orientation day came, we aced it.. All the time, effort, and stress paid off and I'm glad to say Orientation is over with. That is one less thing to stress about in 4th quarter.
Difficulties we faced were changing in time! Many of us were rushing, and needed to be dressed in time, and props needed to be up on time! The first time Laila went up to speak, no one held up her props therefore that was one mistake we made. I made a mistake by wearing the 7th grade uniform instead of my own because I was rushing while changing and couldn't find my shirt. Which I thought someone grabbed mines mistakenly. As far as speaking including myself, I think us speakers did well.. Although some of us went a bit too fast including me. We did good on memorizing our speeches though (: & Laurence did an amazing job! Thumbs up * (; So, with that our mistake was not holding up props, and we went over time on Thursday but that wasn't necessarily our fault, the school came later than expected. & tours went on a little too long. In the end everything came out smoothly.
My biggest challenge was not fazing out during my speech ): at one point I got really nervous on Tuesday while speaking in front of the parents and guardians being that it was the first night, and there was quite a lot of people! I spoke a little too fast -.- its okay though, at least I got my message out there! As far as the fashion show, I had fun (': our dances were good, and didn't see anything wrong with them (: timing was good! When Nic and Noe brought out the shower, and the screens. Although the first time Laila, Trixie, and I changed for "sugar, sugar" they got rid of the screen a little too quick but its okay, Trixie was able to get her slippers on (x and Laurence was great with timing and speaking as well (: Period 2, and 4 did a great job as well. Overall I believe the fashion show was a success! Music was great, who ever was controlling it... Megan (: ......... All the props came out looking good, and banners were made with quality! Stress paid off, and preparation. There really isn't anything I would change about Orientation because in the end everything went out smoothly!! Hard work pays off. It was a great experience, and even though it wasn't perfect, it was well done (: The purpose of Orientation was to inform the 6th graders and parents/guardians about Ilima, and all the programs we have. Which our purpose was accomplished and made. Questions were answered.& 6th graders learned a lot. Hopefully they aren't as nervous...

March 9.

This week was by far a veeeery stressful week. I realized a lot about the students at Ilima, and it's sad to say they are very rude, unappreciative and disrespectful. First of all, every day of spirit week at least three people would have something negative to say about the dress day. For example; "ew. why did you guys pick Turn back the clock pre 1950, you guys should have just done 80's" Polka dot day' "polka dot day is so lame. who made it? LOL you should have done 'animal print.' Aloha attire "does floral print count? it depends. "whoever made this is stupid, floral print would have made more sense." Little comments like this honestly bothered me because first of all, our school doesn't realize that if it wasn't for leadership we wouldn't even have Spirit week in the first place. They should be thankful we created these categories and activities. If they thought it was hard to dress out then don't dress out? If they thought the activities were boring, why did they participate? People would make rude comments about how the penny wars didn't make sense and chain links were a waste of money. Like honestly, We worked so hard and were put under a lot of stress this whole week it didn't help when people weren't appreciative. They point out all our flaws but not one person said a simple "spirit week was fun" or something nice in general. On a positive note, Spirit week was worth it because I had fun dressing out, and cheering off at the cheer off. My favorite part about Spirit week was the cheer off and relay races. The stress was all worth it in the end.
Monday- Being that it was the first day of Spirit week, I was confused on what to do, but in the end I did what I was told to do. Not many people dressed out but, Mr.Ing had a point, Pre 1950's was a bit hard. I had fun dressing out though, wearing a skirt (x LOL. That was funny! On Monday, we had odds. In Algebra we started HSA, the first 20 questions were actually really easy! I felt good about my answers and stuff. In english, we read the poem/song "Loose yourself," and talked about our upcoming quiz & graded poems. Social Studies, Mr.Malinoski did his first lesson and it was pretty fun! I guess it was different because he was teaching us and not Miss.Chin. For Spirit week, i noticed team 8-1 was really into it because on the first day, teachers were prepared dropping the loads of pennies then silvers in the other containers while the other teams didn't really do much till Tues, Wednesday, haha! It was cool seeing the teachers having fun, I think some teachers had more fun then there students .--.
i guesss.. As far as jobs, some people didn't come in during recess which set a bad impression. I believe it was the lack of communication between Megan and everyone else, (like Mr.Ing said.) Oh well, as long as they got it settled.
Tuesday- Evens! Tuesday went a bit smoother than Monday being that it was the second day of Spirit week and we all got it straightened out about the times to work, and stuff. for media we had a substitute, Ms.Salazar and we started on a mini project which is out-shirts (: we could draw and write anything we wanted too but of course it had to be appropriate. If you know me well, you should know that I CAN NOT draw for jaaaaaack. So basically I wrote down some quotes, and the only thing i drew was waves, a across, a sun, and a infinity sign. LOL lame, those were like easy that's why .---. oh and birds! that looks like flying waves. 0__o During science we focused on some notes, and LSA's. It was a chill period. During leadership we had spirit week things to straighten out.
Wednesday; ew. odds. We basically did the same thing. In social studies Mr.Malinoski taught us a lesson and went over the Civil War. & how historians research. In the beginning of class he split us up into two groups, one group was students wearing jeans and the other was students not wearing jeans.. The people wearing jeans were "slaves" which I fell into that group -,- so we sat on the ground facing the wall and he yelled "QUIET!" I was honestly a little scared haha! it was a fun experience though. We sat there for like 7 minutes. Wednesday is usually better days because its a short day and half way through the week. For thursday and friday days went smooth. Friday was like a free day because we had cheer off and relay races. In english we didn't do much besides watch a movie and chill in social studies we had a free period. Except math, of course we took notes and did a worksheet.

Spirit Week

Overall Spirit week was a very stressful week, although it all paid off in the end. It was a great learning experience and taught me so much. With my observations, I noticed somethings. & those things were the students attitudes toward spirt week, and of course (leadership) students attitudes. One thing I didn't appreciate was how certain students had nothing nice to say about the dress out days, and activities! They were saying rude comments such as "ew, why do we have to wear uniform? Spirit is so stupid. What's the point" or "polka dot is so lame, who wears that?" & much more. For the activities I heard comments like "this is lame." And "who created this? It's so hard,& confusing I don't get it." Also comments stating what we should* have done. Everyone was quick to judge, and make rude comments yet no one stated the good things about spirit week. They don't realize how much leadership does, and how much were involved. It made me a little annoyed because its bard and it hurts seeing people not appreciate what we do. But yenno what, that's typical students. They are gonna think its easy and they won't understand till they are put in our position. As far as dress out days,
Monday: I think "turn back the clock 1950" was a bit hard for students to dress out, it was nice to see some students try and dress out though! The effort was nice.
Tuesday: polka dot day was fun! & I enjoyed seeing everyone's cool polka dots. Although one team handed out polka dot cloths.. I kind of thought tht was cheating? But I guess not!
Wednesday: aloha attire was a success. Half of the school dressed out! Some students went all out, and this was probably my favorite day! It was a great pick (: we had some problems with leis, and "floral" print, but we solved the issue as soon as we received the issue!
Thursday: my second favorite day(: it was fun to see boys & girls be able to dress out. The effort each student put in was amazing! Military day was a success as well! Same as polka dot day though, a team was passing out camouflage cloths! I was like I guesssss... Lol.
Friday: we never had any problems with dress code! And lots of students dressed out. What team 7-3 did, was really creative and smart! Making team shirts! Haha.
If I could replace two dress out days I would replace Turn back the clock , & Polka dot day. Why? Because those days were the days we had the least amount of students dress out. I am assuming that it was a hard day to dress out for.
For the mini actives I would suggest; jump rope, musical chairs, pie eating contest, and a singing bee or spelling bee! As far as problems, I believe it was a stressful week. And it wasn't fair how some of us were being selfish and worked only when we felt like it and left others working and stressing. Also how on our own time some of us made time to come to school early while others came really late. I do know that I was one of the students that didn't come in after school on Thursday.. I learned a lot about responsibility and how important it is to be on time and attended work! Also, ways to solve problems. We ran into problems because some of us were confused and didn't understand what to do. We never asked questions when it was time, and assumed things, and mainly the lack of communication! To avoid problems we should ask questions before the actual event and communicate with everyone!! That's it for my spirt week blog! Overall Spirit week was a great learning experience, and all the stress and hard work paid off.

.

Overall, this week has been a good week.
I worked t.v this week. Wednesday, and Thursday we had technical difficulties but the other days it worked perfectly fine. By Friday, it was fixed (: We didn't run into any problems while working t.v During leadership, we practiced for orientation, and worked on other important things. I've been trying my best to stay focused on school work, but I honestly, get distracted easily and lately I've been having a hard time concentrating.
Progress reports came out, and I really need to pick up the pace and start focusing on my main priorities and putting others behind me for now. I will admit that I have been slacking big time! With social studies homework, and leadership blogs and A.R
Algebra is just difficult for me, that's why I am getting a C. Science, and english I am getting an A. With those two classes I have been keeping up with everything and getting good grades on my test and quizzes! This weekend, I am working on my missing work for social studies to bring up my grade. This week in algebra we focused on volumes and surface area. We went over the test that I bombed! Although, now I slighty know what I did wrong. In english we are working on poems. Poems are my FAVORITE, and I LOVE english, therefore English is really fun for me at the moment! In science, we are working on wind and our major project. This project is kind of difficult but my group helped me out! During this week, I honestly am slacking -.- the week progress reports come out! UGH, this quarter I HAVE to get higher than a 3.0 or literally ALL my electronics are getting taken away. I dissapointed my mom and dad during 1st quarter and 2nd quarter. They really don't deserve me disaipointing them again! I've had many highlights of this week, but I should start putting that behind me, and concentrate. By reading and making my A.R goal this week, and doing all my homeowork!  Monday, was like any other Monday, it was a drag. We built our wind instruments in science, and for media we finished our internet scavenger hunt. Tuesday, for social studies we worked on our major essay, algebra we went over the test. English we started our I am poem. Wednesday we did the same in science, and media we did worksheets -.- Thursday was the same as Tuesday! Friday, we beautified our instruments, and worked on our next project in Media. For leadership we have just been focusing on orientation, and I got my speeched memorized this weeek!  Its been a good week overall, i guess?
